Caring for Our Community

The Caring for our Community Campaign will provide $ 5 million in philanthropic funding that will change the trajectory of healthcare at both Samaritan Hospital and The Eddy Memorial Geriatric Center here in Troy. This multi-year, comprehensive, campaign will focus on four essential service areas with a goal of enhancing our patient experience.

CANCER TREATMENT CENTER IMPROVEMENTS
To accommodate a growing complex patient population, a portion of the philanthropic funds raised will be allocated to the construction of a state-of-the-art Critical Care Unit. This facility will be designed to accommodate the most advanced technology and treatment protocols, significantly improving patient outcomes and ensuring the highest level of care for those in critical conditions.

SAMARITAN HOSPITAL OPERATING ROOM REFRESH
To maintain our commitment to surgical excellence, the campaign will fund essential upgrades to our operating rooms at Samaritan Hospital. These enhancements will incorporate the latest surgical technologies and improve efficiency, ultimately leading to safer and more efficient procedures and quicker recovery times for patients.

THE EDDY MEMORY CARE VILLAGE
The Eddy Memorial Geriatric Center is reimagining dementia care by transforming its nursing home to include a Memory Care Village, modeled after the internationally acclaimed Hogeweyk in the Netherlands. This innovative, person-centered approach replaces institutional settings with familiar, community-style living that fosters dignity, autonomy, and well-being.

ADVANCING THE NURSING PROFESSION
Continual investment in our nurses ensures that they have access to the latest training, resources, and technologies needed to deliver exceptional care. When we empower our nursing staff with advanced skills and knowledge, we enhance their ability to respond effectively to the complexities of patient needs, ultimately leading to better health outcomes.

Moreover, campaign funds will further solidify The Richard E. and Andrea Lewis Siek, RN Mission Scholars Program which provides 100% scholarship tuition for outstanding employees, working in other areas of the hospital, who demonstrate an interest in nursing, but need financial assistance to obtain their goal of becoming a nurse at St.Peter’s Health Partners.
